The National Cyber Security Authority (AKSK) held public consultation hearings on the proposed amendments to the draft law “On Certain Additions and Amendments to Law No. 25/2024 ‘On Cybersecurity'”, with the participation of representatives from state institutions, operators of critical and important information infrastructures, as well as the banking sector.
The Director General of AKSK, Mr. Bledar Kazia, together with representatives of the Authority, presented the key innovations introduced by the draft law and their expected impact on strengthening cybersecurity at the national level. During the presentation, the proposed amendments were explained in detail article by article, along with the challenges and needs that prompted their introduction.
As part of the discussions, participants shared their comments and recommendations, while AKSK experts provided the necessary clarifications on the main provisions of the draft law.
The proposed amendments aim to enhance the effectiveness of cybersecurity protection mechanisms, strengthen capacities for the prevention of and response to cyber incidents, clearly define the obligations of operators, and introduce new oversight mechanisms. These measures are intended to further improve the security and resilience of the cybersecurity ecosystem in the Republic of Albania.
